I am a big fan of Artists' Books. On a previous course one of the units was Artists' Books and I really enjoyed creating different types of wee books. I was recently given some money for Christmas so I decided to buy this book about making books and also a book binding kit to try and learn a bit more about book binding techniques.
I began reading the book and it has lots of information on book binding techniques, materials needed and other things such as folding the paper. So after reading a lot of useful information, I have started off slowly and and I have been making quite simple books such as concertina fold, star fold and three-hole pamphlet steely books.
I plan to create more advanced books as I continue to read the book and try the different styles that they have instructions on.
The books I have created have been based on the landscape. Firstly the mountains and then the woodland. I have also created some abstract books too.
I decided to do an online creative project throughout the month of January called '#funadaydundee' in the hope to kickstart the year creatively and get back into the swing of working again on my practice after a long Christmas break from Uni.
